She uses big data to study the consequences of Australia's key family, welfare, and medical policies for (Indigenous) children.

Stefanie’s research program is currently funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council. She held positions at Victoria University of Wellington and the University of Melbourne, and she is a Visiting Scholar at the University of Chicago and a Research Fellow at the IZA Bonn.
