Lynne Cockerell is a Deputy Head of the Economic Analysis Department at the Reserve Bank of Australia. The Department is responsible for monitoring and forecasting economic trends and providing monetary policy advice to the Reserve Bank Board. This role represented a return to economics: in the interim, Lynne spent the best part of a decade working on financial markets and international relations issues, starting from the around the start of the financial crisis. She held a number of senior managerial positions in the Financial Markets Group, RBA and worked two years as a Policy Advisor in the Markets Group, New York Federal Reserve. She has a breadth of experience across economic and financial market roles. Lynne has a Masters of Economics from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Economics and Econometrics (1st class honours) from the University of New South Wales. She has been a Trustee of the RBA Officer’s Superannuation Fund and (in her spare time) is the Treasurer of the Canterbury Ice Hockey Club.
