Hon Chris Bowen, Shadow Minister for Health presents the Warren Hogan Memorial Lecture

"It is an enormous honour to have been asked to present the Warren Hogan Memorial lecture. 

I was keen to accept the invitation for a number of reasons.

Firstly to pay tribute to Warren Hogan.

His long service as Professor of Economics from 1968 to 1998 should be honoured. I was a student in the economics faculty here when Warren Hogan was still a professor. I didn’t get the opportunity to study directly under him (turns out my most famous lecturer, although not famous at the time was the then impressively pony-tailed Yanis Varoufakis, who of course would later go on to be the Finance Minister of Greece, to the surprise of many, including his former students) ... "
