  • Parramatta based – flexible and remote working negotiable (currently working hybrid)
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $124,264 to $133,005 plus super and leave loading

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Policy Officer (Economics and Evidence) to join the Resilience and Urban Sustainability Division.

About You

The Senior Policy Officer (Economics and Evidence) in the Resilience and Urban Sustainability Division develops, delivers, and evaluates economic and policy projects that support the inclusion of biodiversity, resilience and sustainability outcomes into the NSW planning system. This includes working with government agencies and other stakeholders to collaboratively develop, support and promote approaches to valuing, planning for and delivering improved urban greening outcomes.

The Senior Policy Officer will:

  • Develop, manage and coordinate projects and contribute to delivering outcomes and meeting work program commitments.
  • Provide support on the development of economic analysis, policy, and strategic planning.
  • Provide timely, expert and accurate advice to enhance decision making and support the inclusion of green infrastructure, biodiversity, resilience and sustainability into the NSW planning system.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance engagement.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and delivery partners to support implementation and delivery of projects.
  • Manage work performed by policy officers, external contractors and consultants to achieve project objectives.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in public policy, economics, planning, law, ecology, environmental science or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of New South Wales government processes and policy making
