• Policy Manager, Economics
  • Fixed-Term, Parental Leave, Contract from June 2019 up to June 2020
  • Total Salary Package circa $150,000 (incl. 9.5% super)

WALGA is seeking a Policy Manager, Economics to undertake research, analysis, policy formulation and business development to support the sustainability of Local Government. As a key player within the Association you will take a lead role in reviewing, interpreting and informing the economic performance of the sector. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Complex research and analysis of micro economic reform issues and the preparation of reports, discussion papers and submissions
  • Monitoring trends in key economic indicators for the State and National economies
  • Preparation of the Association’s State Budget Submission

For this challenging and rewarding role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Economics
  • Demonstrated experience in providing expert advice derived from analysis and research activities
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Exceptional report writing and communication skills

The successful candidate will have an understanding of the Local Government sector, an interest in driving economic development and the creation of sustainable communities.
