DESCRIPTION:The accommodation sharing economy is a rapidly growing sector with wide ranging implications for tourism and the economy as a whole. First\, a snapshot analysis of the rise of this sector globally and in Australia is provided. This is then followed by various impacts of this phenomenon. Finally\, some empirical evidence using 2015 data from Tourism Research Australia and a self-designed survey are analysed for policy implications on the demand and supply of the accommodation sharing economy.
