Gender Equality Evidence Hub

The Hub is an open-access website that gathers the data and academic research on “what works” to advance gender equality, and translates it into practical actions for businesses, policymakers and the wider community. It helps turn technical jargon into real world impact.

You are invited to the launch event!

We’ve assembled an amazing panel. And the theme of our panel discussion – evidence-based approaches to gender equality – will delve into issues not typically canvassed in gender equality circles.

Among our guest speakers, we are fortunate to be welcoming behavioural design expert Siri Chilazi (and dear colleague and friend), who is visiting Australia from the Harvard Kennedy School. Siri will be sharing insights from her new book Make Work Fair, co-authored with Harvard Professor Iris Bohnet, and signing copies which will be available for purchase at the event.

The Hub demo and panel discussion will run from 4pm-6pm, followed by networking, drinks & canapés and book-signing.

Please find more details in the attached invitation and on the event page: https://events.humanitix.com/launch-of-the-gender-equality-evidence-hub

The Gender Equality Evidence Hub will be housed at www.genderequality.com.au

This “Coming Soon” video offers a flavour of what it will offer (sound on)

You are also welcome to follow via the LinkedIn page

For those who can’t make the launch, the recording will be shared afterwards on the website.

Of course, please feel free to share this event invitation among your interested networks.

Beyond a website, the vision for the Hub is to create a community that empowers each other through the greater sharing of knowledge and evidence-based insights. Academic research shouldn’t be trapped in ivory towers – it should be openly accessible for the wider community, governments, industry practitioners, community groups, educators, students and advocates to put into action. That's the premise for creating the Hub.

This project has been supported and funded by the Trawalla Foundation, Women’s Leadership Institute Australia, and RMIT University’s Enabling Impact Platforms. The Hub is a creative venture – admittedly not the typical skillset of an academic economist! – and it takes innovative and trusting supporters to put their belief in the vision and recognise the value of the project.
