Career Insights from Leading Women in Economics
The Women in Economics Network (‘WEN’) in collaboration with the Reserve Bank of Australia’s Gender Equity Employee Resource Group invite you to a discussion and Q&A with five leading economists:
The panellists will share stories about their unique career paths and provide insights on the changing landscape of economics as a profession. The conversation will be moderated by Natasha Cassidy, Deputy Head of Economic Analysis at the RBA.
The event will be held on Thursday 21 November at the Reserve Bank of Australia (Sydney) and will be live-streamed. There will be an opportunity to network (and nibble) following the panel discussion.
The event is exclusively for WEN members, with limited in-person spaces available. Please attend in-person or watch the live-stream.

About the Speakers
Dr Sarah Hunter is the Chief Economist and Assistant Governor (Economic) at the Reserve Bank of Australia. In this role, she is responsible for the Bank's Economic Analysis and Economic Research departments and is the chief economic advisor to the Governor and the Board.
Joann Wilkie is the Deputy Secretary for the Economic Strategy and Productivity Group at NSW Treasury. In this role, she leads the delivery of economic and revenue forecasting; provision of advice on economic policy and reform, including on productivity; and engagement with Commonwealth, State and Territories on key national reforms and issues.
Dr Kar Mei Tang is the Head of Oceania for the UN-backed Principles for Responsible investment (PRI), the world’s leading international network of investors supporting responsible investment.
Dr Leonora Risse is an Associate Professor in Economics at the University of Canberra, a Research Fellow with the Women’s Leadership Institute Australia, and serves as an Expert Panel Member on gender pay equity for the Fair Work Commission.
Ann Whitfield is a Partner at Houston Kemp, where she is a leading expert in the design and application of regulatory frameworks, with a particular focus on the economic challenges surrounding investment in network infrastructure, including renewable energy.
