WEN Webinar - Women and the Budget - ONLINE ONLY

From: Thursday November 26, 2020, 1:00 pm

To: Thursday November 26, 2020, 2:00 pm

The Women in Economics Network, in partnership with Griffith University, invites you to an end-of-year webinar discussion to explore this issue and consider whether the government's budget responses have adequately addressed these gender-patterned impacts.

Our speakers will look at examples of how to cast a gender lens on economic policy formation and consider where the barriers and resistance to adopting a gender-lensed approach stem from. The costs of overlooking a gender responsive approach to economic policy will be explored, not only in terms of costs to women, but in terms of the wider loss to the economy. Audience members will have an opportunity to participate in the discussion via Q&A.

Our speakers will include:

  • Sally Moyle, Honorary Associate Professor, ANU
  • Dr Leonora Risse, Lecturer in Economics, RMIT University; National Chair of WEN
  • Dr Tracey West, Lecturer in Finance, Griffith University

Moderated by Gene Tunny, Founder & Director, Adept Economics
