Dr Sunny Kim Nguyen

Sunny is an applied macroeconomist who translates data into narratives for markets, policymakers and the public. As Head of Australia Economics at Moody’s Analytics, she leads the country forecast, oversees APAC quality control and briefs clients ranging from central banks to multinational firms. Her commentary is regularly quoted by major APAC media.
Sunny holds a PhD in Economics and has worked across academia, the Reserve Bank of Australia and the private sector, giving her a 360-degree view of policy, modelling and real-world business decisions. Her research spans inflation dynamics, labour-market slack, monetary policy transmission, household and business finance, and she is passionate about bringing high-frequency analytics into everyday economic storytelling.
