Dr. Silvia Salazar is an applied economic researcher at Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre at Curtin University. Silvia's work focuses on household finance and consumption, the cost of living, and housing economics. She also leads the Quarterly Economic Commentary of the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre where she focuses on the economic indicators relevant to the Western Australia economy. As a consequence, Silvia has developed a particular interest in regional diversification and the green economy; topics on which she has authored and led numerous reports and economic analysis.
Dr Salazar has published in multiple academic outlets on subjects central to her academic research such as the economics of the household, unpaid work and gender inequality. Silvia obtained her PhD at the Paris School of Economics and she has previously held academic and teaching positions in France at the University of Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne, the University of Paris 13 and the Dom Bosco Catholic University in Brazil. She has presented her research at numerous international conferences and workshops.
