Louisa is an applied economist with over 30 years of experience. Louisa's research focus is on the measurement and assessment of economic and social values to inform decision-makers in the management of natural resources. Louisa is acknowledged for democratising economics education through disrupting the traditional economic dialogue to level one Business students (35 000 students to date), to aspiring female politicians through the QUT Pathway to Politics Program to helping fishers and fisheries managers to better understand the dark art of economics in balancing conflicting objectives in achieving sustainable fisheries. Louisa is an advocate for women in economics and has an extensive experience in mentoring women economists in academia, the public sector and industry, providing practical support and guidance to develop the resilience to navigate the economic sector.
