Emma is an economist with a quantitative modelling background, which she regularly applies to better understand and tackle issues of inequality. Following the completion of a joint Honours Degree in Econometrics & Business Statistics and Economics at Monash University, Emma spent close to seven years building and applying her economic skills across a wide range of topics at Deloitte Access Economics.
Her work has spanned social services, labour markets, housing markets, tax policy, government budgets, macroeconomic analysis and numerous applications of econometric forecasting. She spent three years running a major macroeconomic model, forecasting numerous aspects of Australia’s economy. Alongside forecast modelling and macroeconomic analysis, she has also honed skills in distributional modelling and inequality analysis. Emma has managed economic research, analysis and modelling projects for multiple government departments and agencies, private sector businesses and charitable organisations.
She is also a founding board director of Tombolo Academy, a small specialist school in the south-east suburbs of Melbourne. Tombolo Academy provides an inclusive eduational exprience for students who are twice-exceptional, being students that have a unique combination of giftedness and a disability or neurodiversity.
