Ghialy is a lecturer and a researcher at the School of Business and Law at Edith Cowan University. Her research interests include tourism economics, superannuation, quantitative finance and economics. She is also passionate about risk analysis and business economics. Her recent research analyses the effects of climate, economic and geopolitical risks on tourism. Recently, she has been investigating the impact of climate change on international tourism in Western Australia. Furthermore, she supervises research students with higher degrees. In 2023, she supervised a third-year undergraduate student in a project entitled "The Feasibility of Gravity Batteries in Unused Mine Sites" as part of Western Australia's Parliament Research Program. Currently, she is supervising a PhD student who investigates the effects of early superannuation withdrawal on savings and wealth between women and men.
